Antique Vintage 35” Hand Forged Iron Fish Frog Eel Gig Spear Harpoon

This is what I believe to be an antique or vintage hand forged iron gig or spear or possibly harpoon.
I am uncertain as to exactly how old it is, but it definitely has very good age.
It measures 35 3/8 inches tall (90 cm). The tines measure 7 1/4 inches high x 4 7/8 inches wide (18.4 cm x 12.4 cm).
I realize that the four tines on this are wider than your usual spear. There is therefore a chance I am wrong about what this is! Please use your judgment.
The handle bends about halfway down. The piece is covered in surface rust and some type of substances at the bottom.

It weighs a little under 3 lbs. 3 oz. (1.438 kg).
